New Bridge Dedication

November 3, 2010 marked the opening of the new Sanders Brothers Veterans Bridge.  The Sanders brothers along with their fellow veterans aboard the Tri River Transit bus were the first citizens to cross the Guyandotte River on the new bridge.  The old Midkiff Truss has served the traveling public since construction in 1925.  In 2006 by proclamation of House Resolution #44 sponsered by Delgates Eldridge, Butcher, Krutkay and Barker the bridge was named Sanders Brothers Veterans Bridge in honor of two Linclon County veterans -Wetzel and Howard Sanders.  Wetzel and Howard have received numerous awards for their outstanding service to our country.
Wetzel Sanders is the sole Pearl Harbor survivor in Lincoln County and is currently employed by Tri River Transit.
