Tri-River Transit Authority (TRT) is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Public Transit Dispatcher to join our team. This position plays a key role in keeping our deviated fixed-route and paratransit/ADA services running smoothly for the riders and communities we serve.
About the Role
As Dispatcher, you’ll be the hub of daily operations — coordinating drivers, scheduling trips, and making sure riders get where they need to go, safely and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and coordinate daily fixed-route and paratransit/ADA trips
- Communicate with drivers throughout the day to relay routes, updates, and service changes
- Respond to rider calls regarding trip requests, cancellations, and scheduling questions
- Monitor vehicle locations and troubleshoot service delays or issues in real time
- Maintain accurate trip and dispatch records
- Coordinate with TRT staff on service alerts, weather-related closures, and other operational updates
- Provide excellent, courteous customer service to riders and the public
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal communication skills; friendly, professional phone manner
- Comfortable using scheduling/dispatch software and basic computer programs (training provided)
- Ability to remain calm and solve problems under pressure
- Prior dispatch, transit, or customer service experience a plus, but not required
- Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening

- Position Type: Full-time
- Compensation: $33,280–$36,400 annually, based on experience
- Schedule: Monday–Friday
